Monday Made It!!

Hello folks!  Well I have been anxiously waiting to post this!  I am in the middle of making a couple things for school, and will update this when they're done.  However, I did finish one project at home... SHOES!  As I'm sure we all saw on Pinterest, I made the Old Navy shoes with fabric.  I went out shopping with my ex-sister-in-law and we went to Old Navy for the sole purpose (hahaha get it?!) of getting shoes to do this project.  Then we went to JoAnn's and got 1 yd of fabric to share.  It was plenty!  These shoes right here cost me $2.50 (She bought the fabric, but it was only $3.something)

Stay tuned for my First Day in 1st Grade picture frame!  I also bought a toolbox to make a teacher's toolbox, but I might wait to see what I have at school before I label it.

    1. Awe, thanks! I'm not really talented. Just really really stubborn. When I decide I'm going to do something, it gets done. Somehow. For instance, I decided last night that I wanted to put a mini book on TpT for getting to know the people in the school (principal, nurse, etc). Well, I have EVERYTHING done except I wanted to make the cover cute with clip art of kids and a school. Do you know how hard it is to find black and white (because it will be copied) clip art of school stuff? I love scrappindoodles, but you can't sell on TpT with their stuff. So... the point... I'm so stinkin' stubborn that I might have to make it myself! haha

    1. I pinned it here http://pinterest.com/irishtwinsandme/crafty-things-i-wish-i-had-time-to-do/ There aren't word directions, but the pictures are all you need. We got 1yd and cut it in half. Then you take that piece of fabric, and cut it into 4 strips. You need to cut it long-ways. I cut mine about 2ish inches wide. Then cut off the straps that are already on it. Cut the ends of the fabric like a point to make it easier. Then put TWO pieces of fabric through the toe hole and tie a knot. Not like shoes, but take both pieces together, and wrap around to make a knot. Tip: try to make the knot close to the end of the fabric so you don't waste any. Mine were almost too short. Then you are going to make 2 knots on top of the shoe (again, not like shoelaces... that knot has to have a name!). Take each piece and slip through the side holes, knot underneath. Then hot glue the knots into the little holes. Voila! It totally made sense while I was typing it, but I'm sure it's clear as mud. haha I am going to make another pair (2/$5 at ON!), and I'll do a photo step-by-step with word directions with it if this doesn't help. :)

    2. Another tip: Wear them around the house before you glue so that you know if you need to tighten or loosen the side knots. I actually wore mine all day today through all my errands and haven't glued them yet haha.
