This is my first Monday Made It Linky! I hope it works. If you're reading this and I forgot something, or made some sort of faux paux (is that how you spell that?!), let me know! I want to do it right!
So at about 1:30-2:00AM this morning I had an idea. Why that late? Because Mr. Bryce wouldn't sleep! I found an empty 3-drawer Sterilite container while I was cleaning the other day. Score! That's as exciting as finding money! So I had it sitting out just calling to me "doooo somethinnng withhhh meeee..." It was staring at me while I was trying to get Bryce to sleep. Then out of nowhere... SNAP! I got it! I'll use it for those pesky wandering crayons, like I'd seen on Pinterest! But I can't have just ANY labels, ohhhh no! I have to have "cute" labels. So onward to the internet I went to find some cute labels, hoping I wouldn't have to make my own at 2am. I did find some cute ones. But then I got another genius (I hope!)idea! I was having trouble with figuring out how to teach my kids where red-orange would go, for example. Would it go with red? or orange? Then what about blue-green and yellow-green? Solution: hot glue actual crayons to the front of the drawers!! Finally he (Bryce, not the drawer guy) calmed down a bit and I couldn't wait until morning to try this! I got up, plugged in the glue gun, broke some crayons, and this is what I got:
I went back and forth on if I should put the bottom half with the color name on it, or the top half with the point. I decided I liked the way the top half looked, and the kids could fgure out the color they want/lost/found just by looking at it. However, I am a little anal and paranoid about making mistakes, so I kept the bottoms! I may glue the to the sides of the container so they can see what color names are where. Maybe.

I love how you did this!
ReplyDeleteI have brain pops too at all hours of the day and because I am OCD I have to make it right then! =)
